Long-Standing Process and Culture

Through the vast experience of our team, Granite’s investment process has developed over many decades, managing large pools of assets for institutional clients and mutual funds, as well as high net worth individuals. Granite’s portfolio team was formerly at Transamerica Investment Management, LLC (Transamerica), which managed approximately $25 billion in assets at its peak in 2007. The investment process developed at Transamerica continues its long tradition at Granite with the same adherence to its fundamental research process and team-focused approach which has been time tested through varied market conditions.

The architect of the Large Cap investment process, Gary U. Rollé, CFA, joined Granite after his departure from Transamerica where he had managed equity assets for over 43 years; serving as Chief Investment Officer since 1982. Mr. Rollé, along with Mr. Edward S. Han, lead Granite’s Large Cap Equity Team, and have worked together for over 14 years.

Granite’s Small Cap Equity Team is led by Jeffrey J. Hoo, CFA, and Joshua D. Shaskan, CFA. Having worked together for more than 15 years, their extensive knowledge as analysts and portfolio managers across the small cap company landscape (micro, small and small core plus) substantiate the benefits of investing in what we believe be to high quality companies, regardless of market capitalization.
